Derek along with several friends and family members began the mother church. Their ministry began to grow through church planting efforts - using literature and the Jesus Film. Now an additional 26 churches have been planted, and 23 pastors called to ministry. The work has grown to more than 4,200 people.

The church in this country is the fastest growing in the world. Christians have faced severe obstacles, but have remained faithful and committed. Churches are growing and seeing the Holy Spirit move in power. Prayer, revival, simple living and a Christ-centered theology characterize the many house churches.
Leadership training is a critical need, and many churches do not know how to teach and disciple their young people. Widespread shortage of Bibles, teaching materials and Bible-literate leaders make discipleship training a challenge. Many provinces, districts and towns are still unreached with the gospel.
